Good to hear from you. I am a decendant of the Wolf Creek,Kentucky Chisms and also have
a link to John L. and Mary Gum. My link is to Richard Chism - John L.'s brother. Their father was James Chism Jr.(b.1727 in Orange Co.Va). and I believe his father was James
"of Caroline" Chism (b. about 1692). Here my
trail goes cold. I don't know where he was born or if he was the original emigrant. I believe the "of Caroline" to refer to Caroline, Co Virginia as later members of the
family were from Orange, and Culpepper Co. Va before moving to Green and Scott Co. Ky. I would appreciate any information about the
Chism's before 1720 and will share any info I
have from that time forward. Would like to hear from someone from Caroline County Va.
E-mailing me is fine but putting the information on the web is better so we all can share and maybe solve the puzzle. Thanks
