John, I am researching John Beecham Chisum who, I believe, was a son on John W Chisum, son of Obediah. I have a land record where he bought land in Franklin Co Al ca 1849. On that record he was listed as from Ponotoc Co, Ms which is close to Franklin Co. In that same section of land where he bought, Thomas E Chisum also bought land at about the same time and we know Thomas E was a son of John W. I think that John Beehum/Beecham is the same J.B. Chism who appears in Arkansas in the 1860 census but I am unable to prove it.
