Greetings Carlos, you really are the United Nations. Yes I have been around good old Germany quite a bit, mainly Rheinland Pfalz, und raum Eifell-Hunsruck-KO, so I have seen lots of US presence there in former times, thats why I suggested something which was incorrect. I contacted my friend in Alabama, and her brother is Larry Chisum, she has not heard of your Larry Chism. I did a small google search of Tuscaloosa and found Chism families there but no sign of a Larry or Lawrence. There are over 8000 people with this name in the USA, it is an American variant on the surname Chisholm. In our DNA project, we have people with the surname Chism who match up with those spelt Chisholm. If you are bilogically a member of this family, on the paternal side, it would certainly show up in your DNA saliva test. Judging from the results we have had from participants in the American South, you would have a good chance at returning a Norse Viking DNA type, now that would go down very well with your Chinese and Mexican parts. The DNA test would show which branch of the Chisholms that Larry belonged to, and would show if you had any genetic cousins in the project database. Have you tried posting your message to the other notice boards, there is a Chisholm board on genealogy.com, and a Chisholm board on ancestry.com Although you dont have much information, a full name plus a location is a good place to start from and I am sure that somebody somewhere would have come across this name. Alles Gute, Robert Chisholm Notify Administrator about this message?
