I've found out more information since I last posted this. So here it goes:

Charles M. Curl was born 1877 in Kentucky and died 1924 in the Chicago, Illinois area--still working on this right now.

Erma Pauline Chism was born 1855 in Kentucky and died 1959. Both Charles and Pauline are buried at Parr Cemetery in Meade County, Kentucky.
The story that has been passed down to me is that Pauline was 3/4 Cherokee Indian. Does anyone know if this true??? Can anybody help me?? Thanks.
