He might be one of the grandson of a Jessee Chism who lived in Texas around that time & was married to a Mary Jane Burk. They lived in Oklahoma possibley before moving to Texas I think, but I'm not sure.
They had more than one child I'm sure, but the one I have a record of is their daughter Mary Ann Chism who later marries my Great Grandfather, James Hollie Hartin in 1917 & they later make their home in Ranger Texas. Not sure if this helps in anyway for what your looking for.
