Hi Pat.
So far there are no particpants from the wider family of JS Chisum in the project, se we have nothing to compare. There are some participants whose geanlogies take them back towards the same alleged source as JS Chisum, back to old Virginia, and we have identied a cople of dna types which may be associated with the Cheesome lines, but nothing yet definitive. As far as Alexander of Ohio goes, if you could be a litle more speific I could trya nd find out if other branches of his family has a DNA profile eestablished in the project. I believe at least one of the Nova Scotia Chisholms , of Long Point, had a branch which went to Ohio, actually the same genetic family as me. However, there are zillions of Alexander Chisholms, so if you could try and identify his earliest known ancestors , that would be a help. My gut feeling is that a connection, if any, would be coincidental. The Christian name, and the surname spelling, is suggestive of a relatively more recent contact to the olde world, whereas JS Chisums family would seem to have a longer American tradition.
Regards, Robert
