John "Donn" Chisholm emigrated from Strathglass to Antigonish and had a daughter, Margaret Chisholm. This Margaret - I believe - married a Thomas Chisholm, who emigrated from Strathglass to Antigonish in 1803 - [as per article; July 20, 1944 in "The Casket" newspaper]. Would anyone have any information on this Thomas Chisholm and the accuracy of the above? I have conflicting information that Margaret married a William Chisholm - not Thomas. My connection to this couple is: - Thomas and Margarets' son, Hugh, [married Sarah MacDonald] - Hugh and Sarahs' son, Donald [Dan T.], married Annie MacNeil in Springhill, Nova Scotia. - Donald [Dan T.] Chisholm and Annie had a daughter, Mary Margaret [Chisholm] Carrigan, who was my Grandmother. According to this "Casket article", John and Thomas were brothers-in-law; so am I correct in assuming this John Chisholm is the "Donn" mentioned in the article? The only other possibility is that John "Donn" married a sister of Thomas. This is where I need more information on this Thomas Chisholm. All the article states about John Chisholm is that he and Thomas both received a grant of land at Gaspereau Lake in Antigonish County. It does not refer to him as John "Donn" Chisholm however. Could there have been more than one "Donn" Chisholm? I believe another thread states that John "Donn" Chisholm only arrived in Antigonish around 1818. Any insight from anyone would be appreciated.
