My father was born William Joseph Summers in Tulsa, Oklahoma April 25, 1928 to Robert. B. Summers and Rubene (Ruby or Rubine) Rosemond (R Rosamond)Chipman. His name was changed as a teenager when he was adopted by Thomas Golden Clegg and Julia Ann (Farrell)Clegg...the folks who raised him in Seminole, Oklahoma. His name was changed to Billy Joe Clegg. He was buried in the National cemetery Biloxi, Missippi with full Military Honors in May 1997. He knew his birth mother and siblings who lived in California. I had met my grandmother on at least three occasions...the last around 1977 or 78...and my Dad gave me
the genealogy information on the Chipman's from his older brother. I corresponded on email with my Aunt (Dad's sister) for awhile until my computer crashed and I lost contact with her. I would love to connect with any relatives out there and other's as well who might be able to help me find the adoption proof I know I will need to
complete my connection to the Mayflower. I would be interested in joining The Mayflower Society if I could get this proof.
