Ami & Sarah Evarts Chipman had 7 children, of which at least two, HEMAN & Olive, were connected with Mormonism to a greater or lessor degree. (Sheldon and Olive Chipman Stoddard may be left to another time.) Heman & Irene Stoddard Chipman's children, in turn, all left traces in LDS records, excepting possibly Nathaniel and George.
Nathaniel Chipman m. Mahelia ____ before 1838 and had Marlow 1839, Sidney 1841, Mary E 1843, <Altamont?> a. May 1850, Lewis G 1854/55. The family was in Alexandria, Jefferson, NY by 1840 where most children were born. Nathaniel removed to Linn Co., IA in 1854 era and died there in 1858. Widow Mehelia & grown children are next seen in Carroll Co., IA. Marriages of all the children are easily made out in US census and cemetery records & images at Landboro? & Jasper twp.
