Hi,
Ami was the son of Amos(abt 1727-after 1776) and Sarah Daggett (born 1728) Chipman.
Amos was the son of Thomas (1687-1752) and Abigail (Lothrop) Chipman. Thomas was the son of Samuel (1661-1723) and Sarah Cobb (1662/63-1741/42) Chipman. Samuel was the son of John (1620-1708) and Hope (Howland) Chipman. John was the son of Thomas (abt 1583-abt 1623) and ?. Thomas was born and died in England and John emigrated to the US.
Hope was the daughter of John (1592-1671/72) and Elizabeth Tilley (abt 1606-after 1672). Elizabeth Tilley and John Howland came to the US from England on the Mayflower. Elizabeth Tilley's parents were John Tilley and Joan Hurst.
This info came from "A Chipman Genealogy" by John Hale Chipman.
On the internet I picked up the following:
The above John Howland's parents were: Henry (1564-1635) and Margaret ? born 1575 Howland. Henry's parents were John (1541-1611/12) and Emme Revell (1542-1614) Howland. John's parents were John (1516-1599) and Agnes Annie Greenway (Died in 1579) Howland. John's parents were John (1481-1550) and Ag'nes Agnette Howland.
This came from the Family Tree Maker on the internet but I hav'nt verified any of this info on the last 4 Howlands beyond what I found on the internet as stated..
My line is from Ami's son Isaac, John E., Millard Filmore, Elmer Dewitt, Elwood Millard Chipman to me, Pamela (Chipman) Delong. Isaac and down moved to Momence, Ill. My father was born there but died in Owosso, MI in 1993. I live in Owosso.
Pam
