I am doing research on some wealthy Pittsburgh families and trying to sort out the family of "Steel Baron" Andrew Carnegie.
If I can read the family of Col William Ball correctly, his son Col Joseph Ball had a daughter named Elizabeth Ball who married Rev John Carnegie. They had a son named Joseph Carnegie.
Another daughter of Col Joseph Ball was Ester Ball married Raleigh Chinn son of John Chinn of Lancaster VA.
Then I have a Mary Ball who I believe was by a second marriage of Col Joseph Ball. Mary Ball married Augustine Washington the son of Lawrence Washington and Mildred Warner Washington.
Augustine Washington and Mary Ball had a son named George Washington the first President of the US and a daughter Betty Washington who was married to Fielding Lewis.
I was wondering if the above is correct and does anyone know if Joseph Carnegie was in anyway related to "Steel Baron" Andrew Carnegie of Pittsburgh.
My source for the above is out of the book titled "Colonial Families of the United States of America".
