Need help in starting trace on GG-father, born Canton, no date as yet,but approx is 1845-75. Emmigrated to NZ in Gold Rush days.
Have gravestone that needs translation (photo)
His name was Joe KAK, don't know if this is real name or if it is common in homeland.
Assisted family friend to follow him to NZ,name of Jimmy GOO.
As I am 1/8 chinese this is really fascinating to me & I don't mind the effort of expense to find out as much as I can.
