Shanghai Russians - Where are the records?

My mother is Russian and was born in Shanghai in 1945. Her mother & grandparents migrated from Vladivostok in the 1930's and settled in Shanghai, I am not sure of the district. I am trying to track down any information on their family, but am not having a lot of success.

Their names were:
Alexander Waldhuter(name was changed to Vinogradova)
Elizabeth Waldhuter(Vinogradova)
Margarite Vinogradova

Alexander ran a ballet company that travelled throughout the region. When the Japanese were occupied Shanghai, the family compound was taken over, the family was permitted to continue living in one room of the compound and the rest became officers quarters.

Margarite married Giuseppe Gnavi, an Italian Navy Seaman, He was a POW to the japanese after scuttling their ship in Shanghai harbour sometime around 1943 and was killed by the American bombing in Shanghai in 1945.

Margarite remarried Alexander Chulcough(Russian Businessman) and they migrated to Sydney Australia.

If anyone knows how to trace any records of their stay in Shanghai, it would be warmly appreciated.
