Juan Besoain & Petronila Escobar Besoain

I am researching my g grandfather Juan de dios Besoain who was born May 1st 1877 in forest Hill, CA, Placer County, USA. His parents were Juan de dios Besoain and Petronila Escobar Besoain who were from Chile. I am researching the descendents of Juan and Petronila. I know Petronila's father was Manuel Escobar, also from Chile. They came for the Gold Rush I assume because they emmigrated around 1850 or so to mine up the the Forest Hill area in Placer County.
Juan Jr. married and had Genevieve, Don (1905) and Catherine Marie Besoain (1911 Antioch, Contra Costa County CA)(my grandmother). He and his wife divorced and Catherine never got to know her father. She knew of the Chilean heritage but not much.
Any other Besoains' out there who can tell me what Besoain means translated. Also what would Petronila in English be. I have been in contact with a boy from Chile and found out that Petronila is spelled correctly.
My grandmother Catherine moved to Portland, Oregon and then on to Hood River, Oregon where she married into the Winans family.
Don stayed in California in the Oakland area and settled with family.
We think Juan might have had an orchard or business to do with orchards and want to find out. Juan finally died in Los Angelos, Los Angelos County, USA in 1923 at the young age of 46. I am wanting to find out what he died of also. There was also a Clarice Besoain Meyer who is buried in Forest Hill Cemetery who was born in 1871 and I want to research who this woman is since the family had settled there originally. Maybe she is Juan Jr.'s sister ( he was born in 1877 ). Also there was a person named Alexander Aaron Besoain who was a registered voter in Placer County in 1890.
I want to find out who this person is also. Maybe another brother to Juan Jr or possibly an uncle.
Thanks
Julie Hamilton
