Alderete scion in NSW Australia 1840

My ancestor Augustin Alderete/Aldirete left Valparaiso Chile in 1840 on board the "John Barry". He was employed by the Australian Agricultural Company to cart supplies to outlying stations in the Peel Valley NSW. He and three other "huasos" including Bernardo/Babiyana Riba and Santo Crina stayed on after their term was finished. Augustin married a convict woman Mary Connors/Barry in 1842. They had two sons, Thomas (b 1841) and James (b 1844). Augustin may have been the huaso killed by bushrangers in the early 1850s. His widow seems to have taken up with Santo Crina later, having a child William Creanor, to him.
WE know that Riba was baptised in Valparaiso Cathedral, so we assume that the other huasos were from that area.
Does anyone have any information on Augustin Alderete? His surname is a well known one in Chile. IF there are people researching the Alderete family, have they come across my ancestor?
