Thanks Peter, I had seen that info for Andres Cardenas before but I have no way to definitively connect the two people. Here's what I know so far: Andrew Cardenas: Born - 30 Oct 1870 - Texas Died - 03 Jul 1925 - Houston, Texas I have his death certificate and marriage certificate. A search for his birth certificate in Cameron County, Texas came up with nothing. In his Census records he says his mother was born in Mexico and his father in Chile. Very few Census records match that profile. Andrew's son and grandson are both named Andrew. It seemed to make sense that Andreas Cardenas in the 1870 Census was his father. In the 1870 Census, Chilean Andreas is 39 and his Mexican wife is 20. They have a 3 year old so it seems likely they were married in 1866/1867 in either Texas or Mexico. Andreas also owned land. So far every request to Texas for Land records, church records, death records has come back with nothing. There also appears to be no immigration or other Census records for Andreas, his wife, and two kids that I can find anywhere. So now I don't know how to proceed to tie Andrew to Andreas to Andres in Chile without it just being speculative. Do you know if they have emigration records in Chile? Also, I've been researching this for my wife and she speaks Spanish so there's no problem requesting records. Notify Administrator about this message?
