Hi all. I'm researching my paternal grandmother Olive Child(s), from the Wolverhampton, Staffordshire area, who came to Halifax, Nova Scotia with her parents(names unknown) abt. 1885-1895. They came to get away from an earnest suitor (Charles Henry Edwards)for Olive (and he followed a few weeks later). Apparently he took Olive back with him and they stayed on. Sound familiar at all? I also have a large chunk of time where I have the family tree missing, but we are supposed to be related to the first banker in London, England - a Robert Childs abt. 1700.
