To Ione Boehmler: My grandfathers family history states that our 4th generation ancester in the USA was Samuel Child born in Barnstable,Mass.who was the eldest son of Richard Child. Samuel was born on Nov.6,1679. He married Hannah Barnard in 1709.[BINGO!] He moved to Deerfield,Mass. at an early age, where he was a blacksmith.A man of character and influence, prominent in town affairs and Deacon of the Congragational church. He died May 28,1756 He had EIGHT children, all of whom married! It would seem that we are related. I only have the decendants from the eldest son down. The next 3 eldest sons lived in Deerfield. More if you need it. I am in my 70's and live in the Seattle,Wa, area. Our Samuel and Hannah's first son was the Samuel who added the "S" to his name!
