I am a descendant of Hezekiah Childs who made his will in 1790 in Spartanburg Co., SC. This will is found in the original form only at the SC Archives (never recorded in any will book)and I have a copy of it. I have always suspected that Hezekiah was related to Nathan Childs who went to GA. In fact, it is my suspicion that Nathan is actually the Nathan Childs recorded in the 1790 Census of Spartanburg Co., SC although other researchers say he went directly to GA. One of Hezekiah Childs' sons was named Jeston Childs and he bounced back and forth between Spartanburg and Elbert Co. GA as did his brother John Childs. They also had brothers named Henry (probably the youngest) and Richard Childs. Two sisters were Franky and Elizabeth who both married Turners. I believe that Franky married Henry Turner Jr. (my ancestor). I would love to make contact with anyone researching this particular family. Henry Childs may have died in Spartanburg Co. as he deeded his land to a William Turner (who I think was his nephew) in 1838 under the condition that William Turner take care of Henry Childs and his sister Franky Turner until their deaths. Franky Turner had a son named William Turner.
