If your Wade Hampton Childs was from Greenville/Pickens Co SC, then I believe that he is the brother of my gg grandfather Thomas J Childs. The parents of Thomas J and Wade H were John Chiles and Amelia (Permelia) Green. This connection is not documented, however. Other siblings include Martha, Perry, William, Hiram, Lecil, Jane, and Mary. John Chiles is the son of Joel Chiles and Mina Mincey (see posting by Brett Hart). Did Wade serve in the war?
