Louis's parents were Antoin Braun and Angelina Davidson Gross Braun. Her father was Andrew Davidson from Kentucky. These individuals can be found in Lincoln County, MO or St. Charles Co. Mo. Antoin is listed as a land owner with his first wife Elizabeth in 1832 records. Antoin was from Baden Germany....South west corner of Germany. This family was catholic and Antoin and Angelina are buried in St. Theordore's cememtary in Flint Hill, MO. (just off of Highway 61, north of Troy Missouri. Louis migrated north into Pike County and this is where he met and married Lillie Childs. Lillies father fought for the South in the Civil War in Virginia. He was captured 3 times , the last time one month after war was over, No CNN. After the war he moved to Pike County where his wife, Sarah Strother, was originally from and bought land from her father, Elijah John Strother. Her mother was Elvira O'Bannon and she died when when Sarah was young. My assumption is that Sarah was sent back to Virginia to be educated and this is where she met her mother's first cousin, Francis A. Childs and they were married.
The Strother line is the one that I have been able to connect back to 1100 in England. I was able to do this after receiving information from a Strother who lives in Pike county. Elvira O'Bannon Strother is buried in the old section of the Bowling Green Cemetary. Elijah John is buried in a old overgrown unused cememtary located at Ashley, MO.
As you can see the Braun was anglisized to Brown.
