More information for my Harriet Childs:
I know that she was at Niagara Co., NY at least just prior to the end of the War of 1812. She married Philip Tufford on
15 August 1814 near Lewiston, Niagara, NY, and they lived at Lewiston for a while,then moved to Niagara Falls (NY) Their children were: Barbara Catherine m. Robert Nichols; Mary Ann m. David Ortt; Isaiah m. Harriet Nichols, then to Annie Skeet; Bartlett Franklin; Sarah Jane m. Alonzo Chesebrough; Edwin C.; Martha Elizabeth; and Emmett Harrison m. Wealthy Ellen Moss.

The only Childs in the Niagara Co. area at that time was one Aaron Childs, but I haven't been able to find a connection.

Do any of Harriet's children's names sound like family names to anyone?
