I am stuck at this couple. Can anyone help with their parents or origins? Help?? Thomas Childs: b. 15 Dec 1812 GA d 3 Oct 1871 Hickory Ridge Twp, Monroe, AR buried Primitive Bapt. Ch., Old Field Cem., Walthall, Webster Co., MS Censuses show him & family in Jackson, GA 1830; DeKalb, GA, 1840; Fayette Co., AL 1850; Choctaw, MS 1860; Hickory Ridge Twp, Monroe Co., AR, 1870. The dates of birth and death came from a descendant who did not list her sources and who is now dead. ***************** Senoy Childs: b22 Dec 1817 (maybe NC?) d 18 Jul 1864 (location?) Family stories say Senoy was full blood Cherokee, and that she and Thomas met in Fayette Co., AL. There is a possible support for the Cherokee story in the NC state archives: Haywood County: Indians fibredex box. CR 049.928.4 folder "A True and acerate Numeration of the Indens that is living on the Purches" 20 Nov 1820: "Also the number of reservations that has been surved - - - I was at a loss to destinguish the age and Sects and have added each familey together." One family is named "Cinoa"; 2 members in family; 1 reservation. Senoy and Thomas had 10 children, many of whom survived to adulthood. Notify Administrator about this message?
