Thomas was a Mississippi River steamboat pilot during late 1800s. Possibly born in Rhea or Roane County, TN ca 1820. Resided Phillips Co. AR in 1841, off and on thru 1850s. Resided Memphis, TN 1865/1892 or 1893. Died Williston, Fayette Co., TN Dec 1900. m. Amanda PORTER 8 Feb 1841, Searcy, Phillips Co., AR. Children Victoria, Josephine, Florence, Edward,Mathi N. and possible Stephen and Caroline who married a Joseph D. Nance. Buried Elmwood Cemetery, Memphis, TN. Parents possibly John and Polly (Clem) Childers/Childress. I have little beyond this but will share what I do have and will appreciate what help you can furnish.
