I'm looking for William Childers (or other spelling) who probably lived in the Jersey Community, Rowan Co., NC between 1769 - 1790. His wife is only listed as Charity. They had a daughter, Nancy, b. 22 Apr 1769 in the Jersey Community. She married Joshua Whitaker, Jr. on 12 Aug 1791 also in Rowan Co., NC. She died at Fairhope, Buncombe Co., NC in 1841. Jersey Community had a lot of people who had left New Jersey in the 1750-1760's. Between 1795 and 1800 many of the residents had moved into the mountain area south of Asheville. I have no dates for William but do have Charity being born in 1744. anything will be appreciated.
