Jody,
Yes, at the time I looked at the sheet, there was one person who matched (Benedict), however, it was the grouping of Northern Europe that was weird to me! I would like to get in touch with the person who descends from the Benedict Childress DNA.
My reasoning is simple, how can Benedict be the grandson of Jeremiah Childress (proven by will) son of Thomas, who most seasoned researchers have as the son of Thomas Sr....having descended from Philemon Childress?
I totally agree with regards to early deaths among the "mothers" of Childress. I also certainly agree with adoption, as my earlier Childress family took in two children who were not his own. I've corresponded with many, many people who've found their DNA matches Childers / Childress and they carry a different surname. So yes, I do understand and find it fascinating.
Let me ask you something? The Celtic Childress grouping? You said there were only two who did match in that group? Was that correct? Nel Hatcher, Hatcher-List (among others) agreed that it was not set up properly (Celtic) and that she only saw two who matched and they were brothers. I've located something very interesting that I published to Childress Research-List, maybe we could discuss it. Thank you for writing.
