I've just really started on this line, so please bear with me.Because of the mutual connections with the Pryor family, I still must wonder whether Henry Childers who m Susannah Goldsby was the son of an Abraham b abt 1700 (date doesn't seem right) and therefore still the grandson of Abraham b abt 1677 Henrico Co who m Elizabeth Cannon.Obviously, some of these dates don't square up very well; I am not sure how the relationship was determined between Abraham b abt 1677 and Abraham b abt 1700.I really suspect that the birth year of 1700 was merely speculation on someone's part. This would mean that there would be more than one son of Abraham and Elizabeth Cannon who would be old enough to father Henry.I just see a closer relationship here to Amherst Co Childers than to Buckingham Co Childers.
Regardless, I see the following children listed in various websites for Abraham b abt 1700 d Dec 23, 1763 Henrico Co, VA:(1) Elizabeth Childers b 1737 Henrico Co, VA who m (FNU) Pryor.(2) Samuel Creed Childers b 1745 Goochland Co, VA who m Elizabeth Clark.
My thought is also that there might easily be more than one Henry Childers at that time, just based on my experiences with other similar VA families in that era.
It just makes sense to me that any family who married into the Pryor family and the Sweeny family were probably near neighbors to them at one time.

Judy Childress b to Judy Childress and Samuel Coleman 26 Feb 1704, according to someone or other on Ancestry.com --
John Childrey Dec 10 1737 in court (Albemarle > Amherst Co) concerning tobacco for wolf heads -- is this your John or a different one?I know one line of Childers descendants spell it "Childrey"
Henry Childers 1738 witness to deed Appomatox and Upper Sapponie Creek in Albemarle > Amherst Co
Abraham 1749 "on Rockfish; sold property 1751" in Albemarle > Amherst Co
Abraham 1753 "on branches of Bremore and Rockfish Creeks" in Albemarle > Amherst Co
Abraham 1760 on Rockfish in Albemarle > Amherst
1761 -- Amherst and Buckingham Co were formed from Albemarle Co
In the Alexander Brown papers at , the following Childers are listed:
Childers (Childress) Abram b.sr.
" Ben. b.sr. 12,
" Henry b.sr.
" Henry a.
" John Sr a. 37,
" John Jr a.
" John b.sr.
" Joseph a.
" Joseph b.
" Lucretia m 1748 Matw Tucker
I understand that the letters after the names refer to Brown's sources.Of the top of my head, without knowing much about it, I am speculating that the "sr." refers to "Senior", which of course may or may not imply that the younger man of that name is the son of the older one of that name. The more common naming strategy of Virginians of this time period was to name the eldest son after either the mother's father or the father's father. For example, Henry Childers b abt 1678 as the eldest listed son of Abraham Childers b 1655 and Anne Pew (this Henry m Lucretia Jones) was probably named after his maternal grandfather, Henry Pew.
You are probably familiar with all the info above; I do appreciate your explaining things to me!
