I remember that our family had relative from Knox Co., TN; I remember James Childress, although could be John Childress, without looking at family documents. I've seen his picture, though, at a family reunion in May, 1977, Marshfield MO. In any event, he had quite a few children, one of whom is Creed Taylor Childress, b. Dec 1849, in Cherokee Co., AL. Creed Taylor, and wife Hanna Lucy (Haines) Childress, had four children; Robert Eli, Indian Territory (Terri for short), George Anis, and Frank. Robert Eli is my grandfather. One of Creed Taylor's sisters settled in the Kansas City, MO., area, where many of her descendents are. If I can find my family papers, there's more. I'm at cchildre@softcom.net for correspondence.
