JOSEPH D. NANCE & CAROLINE C. CHILDERS married Phillips Co. AR 18 Jan 1860. He was 24, she was 15. Nance from Louisville, KY. Believe they are same as Joseph D. and Eliza C. Nance of 1880 L'Anguille Twshp, Phillips Co., Dw & Fam 37, Lines 40/46, AR census. Believe she is daughter of Thomas J. Childress (steamboat pilot) and Amanda Porter as Caroline names two daughters Amanda (mother's name)and Victoria V (sister's name). Cannot find 1860 or 1870 census. Would greatly appreciate any help in connecting her to Thomas and Amanda, or, conversely, any help in definitely showing no connection. Please reply to anchorman1@msn.com.
