Joel married Parmelia "Amelia" Davis only once. She died Sep 1 1863 in Alabama. He married her on nov 24 1846 in Bibb Co., Al. by S.D. McCary.,J.P. They had five children. He married second Alpha Ann Robinson Nov 1 1866. They had five more children
