I am also looking for the parents of William Childress who was married to Ann David. I don't know exactly why I think this, but something makes me think that his father was also William and his mother may have been a woman named Martha Lowthar. Could be worth looking into though, especially if you don't have anywhere else to start. I have a copy of a transcript of his William Childress's will, in which he left his property and other belongings to his wife Ann, and his 4 children, William Burton Childress (1781); John Childress (7/21/1773), Mary Ann Childress Agee (11/24/1775), and Sarah Childress Looney (1778) William Childress operated a Ferry on the South Fork of the Holtson River in Sullivan County, TN. He also operated a Grist Mill. His will was dated March 17, 1816. I show that he was born abt. 1746 in Va. and was married about 1771. As you probably already know, Ann Burton was the daughter of William Burton and Mary Ann David, who was the daughter of Pierre/Peter David and Ann Dutertre. William Burton died when he was fairly young and his wife remarried to Stephen Easley and they moved to Sullivan Co., TN. Mary Ann David Burton was one of 4 children; Isaac; Peter; Ann; and herself Mary Ann.
William and Mary Ann Burton Childress' daughter Mary Ann Childress marreid William Agee, also of French Huguenot descent. His parents were Isaac Agee and Mary Smith. Isaac was the son of Anthony Agee and Christian Worley; Anthony was the son of French Huguenot immigrant, Mathieu Agee and Ann Gandovin/Godwin.
