I am a descendant of Pleasant Childress (sometimes spelled Childers). My information confirms yours that he was born in 1761, served in the Revolutionary War and died in 1839. He married Sarah Jeffries in 1785 and they had seven children, Lucy, Elizabeth, Sally, Jesse, Nathaniel, Pleasant, Jr., and Flemon, who is my ancestor.
Flemon was born in 1800 and married Charity Matney (born 1805) in 1825 and they had 8 children, William, Flemon, Jr., Walter, John, Nathaniel, Frank, Mary, and Loven, who is my ancestor.
Loven (born 1838) married Rebecca Ratliff (born 1846) in 1861 and the had 10 children, Mary Frances, John Wesley (my grandfather), William Walter, America Alice, Adam, Joel Edison, Lorenza Dow, Minnie Elizabeth, Verna Alice, and Howard.
John Wesley married Vicey Salyers (for whom I am named) and they had 6 children, Lydia, Adam, Logan (my father), Callie, lula, and Edna.
Vicey Childress Quillen
