I am searching for any information about Andrew Jackson Childress, who served in the Civil War as a confederate soldier, was taken prisioner, released and returned to Tennessee. He may have been a well-digger in Arkansas at one time. He was well known for his size, his strength, and his very colorful language in describing his opinion of his opponents in the war. Not sure of the number of children but know that he had a son named Robert, who married a Hankins (Ina?), who had a son named Glen, a son named John, a son named Jack, and a daughter named Louise. Jack was my father who lived from 1920 to May, 1996. I have little information about my father's family and would appreciate any that is available.
