my grandfarther is Preston Childress born june20 1913 Wilksburo Nc,his mother was Addie Childress,her mother was Nancy Woods wife to Hiram Childress.
my grandmother is Savannah Rhodes Childress,born oct9, 1919-Wilksburo NC,her parents were: farther- Noah Wesley Rhoades, mother-AdA Byers,born june 1896-died aug 1962,her mother was Mary Woods husband of Ace Finley Byers.
This is all the information I have so far on my farthers side of the family.They seem to have originated in wilks county NC,now those left live in Charlotte county, Keysville VA.
