I am interested in locating any information reference to a James CHILDRESS who was possibly born about 1740-60, most likely in the Virginia counties of Halifax, Amelia, Mecklenburg or other.
I have seen a court document which indicated that James Childress possibly had died by 1794c and suggests that his widow could have been named EMELIA/Emily with the surname of CHILDRESS.
