Hi all, it has been quite some time since I have posted anything in the search of my Childers roots. My gmother was Ida Mae Childers (d/o William Wesley Childers & Elizabeth Brewer). All records indicate she was born in Campbellsburg, Washington County, Indiana. Census records show that the marriage to William was Elizabeth's 2nd and since my gma was the oldest child...and the fact that no records can be found of her birth...wondering if maybe she was from the 1st union. Elizabeth died in 1913 (approx) and Wm kept the children until he was sentenced to prison where he stayed until the 1930s when he was paroled and died in Marion County, Indiana. The children of this union between Wm & Elizabeth were: Ida Mae, Florence, Ellen, Elmer (the baby when his mother died), Goldie. It is documented that Wm & Elizabeth traveled from Indiana to Kansas (to visit his family) in the timeframe approx 1899 - 1902. The daughter, Ellen, was born in Kansas with all the other children born in southern Indiana. Any help would greatly be appreciated. Thanks
