Susan,
Thank you kindly for taking time to write. And alos for sharing your Childers/Childress lineage. When you stated you descend from your grandpa Walter, and also how you started family history when your grandparents died in Texas, are you saying Walter and his family settled in Texas?I ask because I have been collecting data on various North Carolina to Georgia to Alabama Childers/Childors/Childress...and have a number of "Walter Childers" in my collection.Also. sure alot of ALLRED's in the Cullman-Blount-Walker counties area of Alabama where I grew up.
No. I do not have pictures of this family.I began assisting one of my 2nd cousins named Terri Leigh (DILL) BECKER of Washington State with her family history.Terri inherited many of her father Bobby Dill and Grandmother Eunice (born WATTS) DILL's family tidbits. This was when Terri and I discovered Aunt Eunice's gr-mother was Elisabeth D. CHILDERS WATTS as well as Eunice's mother-in-law was Ella CHILDERS DILL. Our goal was to determine if the two CHILDERS families were somehow connected?
Elisabeth D. CHILDERS's father Willis b. 1795 VA married 1820 Wilkes Co, NC. and Ezekial b. 1808 SC...and both families settled over time in parts of Blount-Cullman-Walker Counties of Alabama. To my knowledge, I can't connect the two families.
I will keep your data and should I learn MORE, i'll forward on for you, k?
Sincerely,
Judy, California
