Abram/Abraham Childers, Virginia>Kentucky>Missouri
From the 1850 census, Callaway County, Missouri, we learn that Abram Childers was born about 1795 in Virginia. His daughter Eliza was born about 1815 in Kentucky, and married William Thomas Day 15 Nov 1832 in Callaway County, Missouri.Abram Childers purchased land (46N 09W) in 1841 in Callaway County, and was living with Ezekiel and Sarah Brunson Day in 1850.Eliza Childers Day died in 1848, and William Thomas Day remarried shorly afterward.Ezekiel Day was William T.'s brother, but why Abram Childers was living with him in 1850 is unknown by me.
That sums up what we know about Abram Childers..but I will offer some suppositions.
He is likely the Abraham Childers recorded in the 1830 Census for Lincoln County, Missouri. He could be the same man recorded in the 1840 Census for Morgan County, Illinois--the households seem to match, but there is also an unidentified man of his age range living with William T. and Eliza Day in Callaway County.
Does anyone have any ideas about Abram's family and points of origin?
