I don't know who my ancestor is from the Childers line.I am descended from Robert Crowder whose wife was a Miss Childers. This is from their daughter's death certificate.Their daughter Faithy Jane Crowder married Spencer Smith in Lawrence Co., Tn. in 1850.Faithy Jane was born in 1828 and lived until 1915. Her mother was reported to have been Cherokee and from the pictures, it certainly appears that this is true. Her mother was born in NC and from the birth states of the children, it appears that they migrated through Georgia, Alabama, and then into Tenn.Robert lived on the line between Lawrence and Giles counties in Tenn.I have been grasping at straws trying to find the Childers lady's name and her siblings. Since IsaacChilders was in Limestone Co., Ala. in early 1820's and so was Robert Crowder, I thought that there might be a connection. Also, on the Cherokee role in 1838, there was a Lemuel, Flemuel and Isaac Childers.I have wondered if these were relatives of my Miss Childers. Any lead or help would be deeply appreciated.
