I have a family history book that goes back to the 1600's as well and it says that it all started with a man that sold children's hosser'es. I also have been called many names but Childerhose, like "Chowder House", or my mother one time in the hospital was called Mrs. Chicken-toes, and many of my friends call me "chilly sauce" or even one time called Childerhorse, but of course the most favorite of everyone is Childerhouse. I will look for our family tree book and see if I can get some more info for everyone. It is a book tht my oldest brother and mother received from a family reunion held in the Ottawa valley some 20 years ago or so.
