I have been trying to find the parents of William Chidester who was born at about 1808. He married Sophia Closs Featherly Emery, a young widow with 2 or 3 girls and the couple had 8 more children, most of whom were born in Rose, Wayne Co., NY. Children: Amelia Mercedes, b. 1842, Jerusha Romaline, b. 1847, Adelaid, b. ?, and the last 2 children were William and Frederick, born 1854 & 1856. Sophia's family were the first settlers in Lyons, arriving there by barge May 1789. John & Mary Featherly, William Stansell and another Stansell family were the 3 families. There is an historical marker inditating this event in Lyons.
