Hi, Brenda!! Not such a long shot. I know who your Louise Chichester is. I have only recently been online and have been trying to do family research, so I check the Chichester page frequently now that I have discovered GenForum. Louise Chichester was my mother's sister, Agnes Regina Chichester (called Dena). Mary is my cousin, but we never really met due to our age differences and the fact that my family moved to Baltimore in the 1930's - before I was born. Louise's parents were: They are both buried near Alexandria, Va., in (I think) a cemetary called Mount Comfort. There were 12 children in that family, most of them girls. I don't have their full names with me at the moment, but they were as follows (and not exactly in correct age order, unfortunately): William (Billy) - the oldest Aileen and Kathleen are both very much alive and could give you more details than know. Kathleen's married name is MUDD. I can provide Kathleen's phone number if you want it. I have only one memory of Mary. She was staying at my grandparents' home on Uhler Ave. in Alexandria, it was summertime, very hot, and Mary was in an upstairs bedroom in a body cast. I'm not sure if she had been in an accident or what. I was only about 5 and I tried to peek in the door to see her, but my Mom told me she was sick and shouldn't be bothered. I remember she had dark hair. Louise I remember quite well. I knew she had been married to a Bill Peters long before I was born and that they divorced. Louise was good-natured and always kind to me. She loved to be around people and to laugh. A few years before she died, she came and spent Christmas with us. She had very poor eyesight then (caused by diabetes), but she had a good time. She was short (about 5/2), normal weight, and had naturally curly hair. Mary may remember my older brother - Buddy Kidwell. He was born in 1935, I didn't come along until 1949. Chichester is an English name, you know. So is Hammersley. One more thing - the family was Catholic and attended St. Mary's Church in Alexandria. It has a bright blue door. Hope this gets you off to a better start.
