it seems that there are a few Margaret Chidesters which are about the same time as the Margaret, d/o Holdrige Chidester.
So, I wish to apologize that I presumed that as some had no idea who a certain Margaret married in/about 1810, I have dug as deep as I can without some Chidester help.
One researcher has my Margaret marrying James Blue, Ross County, Ohio Territory. This is confirmed but the belief is that she is the widow of Wm.Jennings Chidester and is actually a Carnahan. Although possible, it seems wrong. As I look back on Holderidge, I find a sister who seems to be the actual Margaret whom I am after.
One reason which I have reservations about her being a widow is that the Chidester /Chedister name has been passed down since James married Margaret to a son. This is the case to my father and my brother.
It also belies the fact that James went to IN and Michigan in the days when I see Chidester to be a pioneer name and thus as all of the sons of James were with Margaret Chidester, it seems a wierd chance that she would give that name to her kids and they to theirs for over 150 years.
If anyone can show me anything besides LDS lists I would be very happy to share what links I know in Mich. in the early days and would like to coorespod with relatives of my grgrgr grandmothers family.
Thanks
