I have a postcard with the following text that was sent to my grandfather Charles E. Chick of Monroe, Ga. Harriette Chick Collins is my Mother. I will send anyone interested - a digitized picture of the postcard if they will send me their Email address. jc

"Metropolis, Ill - Jan. 8 - 1956

Dear Chicks,
We have a clipping several years old regarding marriage of Miss Harriette Chick of Paducah, Ky. I never met Harriette but often wondered if she was of some relation to us. My folks are originally from Portsmouth & Ironton (?) Ohio. My Grandfather´s name was Franklin. He was born 1832 (?), He had brothers "Will", "Hiram", "John". Some sisters, one "Vashti" Davis. I think Hiram or Will Chick lived in Indiana. I have an old picture of a Chick in Logansport (sp), Ind. My grandpa Chick moved from Portsmouth, Ohio to Metropolis in 1853. My father John Desso Chick (born 1856) had brothers Frank, George, Charles L. also Elmer & Willie & sisters Alice, Anna, Ocie (?). I am curious to know if we are of the same flock.
Sincerely yours,
Elmer Chick."
