There is a large group of Chick's that moved, and first settled in Massac Co. Ill. Where current day Metropolis is. There is only one Chick left there his name is Edgar and is in his 90s. He has traced the family all the way back to Portsmouth England. The origional Chick grave yard is still there. My Mom found it last year on a family finding trip. She lives in Aurora, Il. The origional farm house can be seen off I-24. Her e-mail is chicke@mail.dnb.com. There is a Massac Co family book that my Mom has that has an almost complete family tree. Most of the family moved up to the Aurora area during the Great Depression. Before arriving in Il the family's origional immigrants lived in the Cincinnati, OH area. During the CA gold rush half the family moved to Southern IL the other half moved to CA. There is a Congresswoman in CA from that line.
