Looking for info re: Walter E Chick. Walter was born in ME and evetually settled in RI in the 1880's. In abt 1894 he married SARAH WALKER. Walter Chick was a moterman, a teamster, and eventually the first caretaker, of DAGGETT PARK, PAWTUCKET R.I. circa 1895-1912. Around 1912 Walter relocated to N.H. He is presumed to have died before 1919 as Sadie Chick shows up in the Central Falls R.I. city directory around this time. Though they had no children of their own, they adopted my grandmother, MARION FRANCES, in 1905. Sadie Chick also had a brother, GEORGE WALKER, who also lived and worked in Daggett Park. She may have had a sister named FRANCES ELDER. This is a difficult line to trace, as most of this family did not have children. I am hoping someone researching the CHICKS of ME or RI will have something to share! Most appreciated.
