Simon, CHICKS in Ireland may have come as Quakers, or they may have been part of a plantation from England such as that sponsored by Richard Boyle, 1st Earl of Cork. Many Somerset and Dorset people went to County Cork where, for the most part, if they remained, they intermarried with the local native Irish. I think some 10,OOO people from Somerset and Dorset were transplanted this way to Ireland by Boyle.
