David: My great-grandmother was a Chesson. I have found these spellings are interchangeable. There are many Chessons in Orange, Bridge City, Beaumont and Port Arthur, Texas. I have almost hit a brick wall in my research. Please write to me, Pat Almquist, at bambi@prysm.net
