Searching for ANN MELVIN b.Dec. 6, 1878, and GEORGE WATSON b. Feb. 23, 1877, both were illegitimate children of Sophie Anderson b.Aug. 5, 1854.(who later married John Cheyne) Don't have any info re: George,whose father was JOHN WATSON However, Ann Melvin had a daughter named Sophie MacDonald Melvin b. April 26, 1900 who emigrated to Sask.Canada with her grandparents, Sophie & John Cheyne in 1912. On the ship's manifest, she is listed as "Annie".(Was she using her mother's first name?
What happened to Ann Melvin? Did she ever marry? Did she die at an early age? What happened to Sophie's son George Watson who was about 33 yrs old when his mother went to Canada? Did he marry and have children? Would appreciate any information. Reply here, or email me at lilcheyne@shaw.ca
