Elizabeth, many thanks for your kind note; I am delighted to hear from you. I have sent a longer reply to your e-mail. Your branch of the Cheyne family is the first one with direct descent from John Powles Cheyne with whom I've been in contact. Together with a colleague at Cambridge, we are planning to publish a study of Cheyne's career -- there is much family information among our researches which we'd be delighted to share. For the moment, if you could respond to the e-mail, I would be happy to send you all the additional information about John P. Cheyne that we have. Best regards, Russell Potter
